Laboratory of Host-Pathogen Biology

Studying the biology of mycobacterial infection.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a bacterial pathogen and the leading cause of death from an infectious disease. In 2024, an estimated 10.8 million people developed tuberculosis (TB). The Rock lab investigates the mechanisms that enable this bacterium to cause disease and evade antibiotics, aiming to lay the groundwork for new therapies to better control this global pandemic.
